First Look at the Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather

Following the debut of their collaborative Instapump Fury at Paris Fashion Week Couture in January of last year, Maison Margiela and Reebok are at it again with a new faded gray colorway of the Reebok Classic Leather, teased by Kim Kardashian via Instagram story briefly before deleting it.

Reebok first introduced the Classic Leather style in 1983, inspired by a classic ’70s running shoe. Since then, it has become a must-have lifestyle shoe worn by many familiar faces such as Gigi Hadid. The newest collaboration is a blend of the classic with Margiela’s The Tabi, originally introduced for the spring/summer 1989 season.

The Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather features a white painted upper that spills onto the tongue and shoelaces which will wear away over time, exposing the coloring underneath. A split-toe Tabi toe box similar to the Instapump Fury collab gives nod to the traditional Japanese split toe sock. The labels signature number system appears on the tongue tag with the 22 circled, representing that this collab is part of their footwear category. A deeper gray hue on the tongue and laces complete the shoe.

A release date has not been announced, but look out for the Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather to be released later this year at select stores and Reebok.com.
